HBUMP is fortunate to have a vibrant parent council that supports our school in many ways throughout the year. The Parent Council organizes volunteers and plans details for the following areas:

Classroom Partners

Each class typically has 1-2 classroom partners who support the teachers in organizing celebrations, securing library books, honoring birthdays of our teachers, arranging playdates, and more!

Teacher Appreciation

In addition to the incredibly special and beloved Teacher Appreciation week, this team also coordinates parents to “stock the fridge” and provide generous staff meeting lunches.

Fundraising

This team organizes the annual “No Fuss Fundraiser” and is involved with the planning of additional events that generate much-needed additional funds that support the many “extras” HBUMP offers.

Special Events

This team plans details and decorates for our Halloween Parade, Christmas Chapel, Donuts with Grownups, Music & Muffins, and Moving Up Ceremony.

Parent Education and Parent Socials

Designed to support and connect our HBUMP families, this team plans informative and socials opportunities, as well as relaxed social events.

Involving Families in OUR Classrooms

Each year, our teachers will find ways for you to get involved in your child’s classroom. Examples include:

Voting on classroom project ideas
Participating in the ‘Culminating Event’ of a project
Gathering library books or creating project-focused sensory bins
Providing classroom coverage, if needed
Sharing careers, talents, or interests by leading activities in the classroom
Preparing a traditional dish from your culture or family to be shared during snack or lunch time
Participating as a “mystery reader” during circle time
